Manuela São Simão was born in São Paulo - Brazil - in 1980, going to Portugal in 1985 where she finished her five years degree in Fine Arts - Painting, at the Fine Arts School of Oporto University.
Since 2003, she has been developing her work in the visual and performative arts, including intervention in public spaces, sound and inter media projects, design and illustration. Along with her personal work she has been developing curatorial projects under the name EDITMAKEMIX, mixing visual arts and sound in the production of sound exhibitions, radio transmissions and the organization of concerts and other sound related projects.
